Contestant Number Two…

December 16, 2016, Friday, Manila, Philippines at the Broadway Centrum; the most awaited day for the fans of the Electric Guitar Heroes; Blaster Silonga, Fender Dimalanta, Luis Galang, and Angelo Garcia. It was the qualifying round for Eat Bulaga’s segment, Music Heroes’ Grand finals.

Hi I’m Jeriah Bautista or Ate Jai. I am an admin of Blaster Silonga’s official fans club, Blasterrifics.

I woke up at 4 o’clock in the morning to prepare myself for Blaster’s performance at Eat Bulaga. His mom, Ate Tess, my sister in lifegroup, told me that we should leave exactly 6 in the morning to avoid traffic because Blaster’s call time is 8AM and we’re gonna be coming from their house at Marikina City. Well, we left 7AM. Feeling sleepy and tired for 4 hours sleep, I went to their house and ended up waking the Silonga siblings up. While waiting for Blaster to finish preparing, we couldn’t stop talking about how nervous we are on what’s going to happen. Even I couldn’t explain what I’m feeling. Early that morning the Lord reminded me of His word that WE ARE FAVORED and every time we say how nervous we are, we never stop reminding each other that WE ARE FAVORED. Win or lose, we are favored! My Blasterrifics group chat was at its noisiest point early that morning that made me more nervous, thinking.. is this the last time that we’re gonna see Blaster on TV? Is this the last time that we’re gonna be getting to know each other and so much more things that I don’t even want to imagine that would happen.

On our way to Broadway, the usual Friday traffic was not seen anywhere where we traveled, we were fooling around but what we were just thinking was, we are favored. We arrived at Broadway exactly at 8 in the morning. The moment that we step out of the car, some of the people outside already knew Blaster and said Hi. Arriving at the dressing room, the majority of us wants to eat on a fast food and so we went for a walk on the nearest Jollibee. Before we eat, we did a small prayer both for the food and for Blaster’s competition. In faith, we declared, we are favored.

Going back to Broadway, crowd started to build up and the heavy feeling started to increase. The beats of our heart is getting faster, our prayer is getting stronger. Ate Tess told me, “Parang yung puso ko, kinikiliti na ewan” and the funny thing is when Blaster went beside me, I asked him if he was nervous, he said the same thing his mom said. I hugged my little brother and said that HE IS FAVORED.

While the crowd is getting bigger, a commotion on the stage started to build up, Blaster’s effects was grounded. Ate Tess rushed to Blaster and I following her asked what’s happening and started to pray for the whole set and let the Lord move. That time, I knew that it was going to be a great fight.

Before the show started, I have had a small problem. I got 9 Blasterrifics outside and Ter only have 5 slots for music hero. I honestly did not know what to do but what happened was one of the music heroes lend his 4 extra slots to us. Again, we knew, we are favored! Thank you Angelo Garcia!

Before Eat Bulaga started, I went outside and get the banners that someone made for Blaster, it was a lot! Again, we are favored.

Blaster Silonga and Angelo Garcia were the first Electric Guitar Heroes to go live and battle for a slot in the finals. Blaster was the first to play. The piece that he used was the same piece from semi finals, Through the Fire. It was just the opening act of the Electric Guitar Heroes. The category that was  chosen for that day was Aegis’ Greatest Hits and Blaster’s piece was the all time videoke favorite, Basang Basa Sa Ulan. Angelo played the hit song, Halik. Crowd has gone wild while Blaster is performing his heart out, you could also see a lot of banners from the crowd stating his name. Blaster, wearing his signature animal print outfit and new red violet highlights looks so stunning both live and on television. I was also all out in shouting giving cheers to him not realizing I had too much exposure on the television for that. Well, they told me to shout, so I did! Going back, after his performance, listening to the judges’ comments, it was very unpredictable. Both were awesome musicians, both have skills, both have guts and that made me much more nervous. I asked my seatmate, “mananalo kaya si Blaster?” and he answered at its confidence, “Bakit naman hindi?” – that moment, I prayed, I thanked God for the good fight. People may say that it’s weird that I’m too nervous for it but my sister’s battle, my brother’s battle, is also my battle.

The Twitter party with the hashtag #EBClashOfGuitarHeroes was spreading seeing a lot of Blaster Silonga on tweets!

While on commercial breaks, my heart was full of joy when some girls seating way up at Broadway keeps on shouting “Blaster” and we knew more Blasterrifics are coming. Exciting!

Commercial break ended, the winner is now going to be announced. Ryan Agoncillo announced the winner like this, I was really excited and nervous but I continue to pray. Ryan started, “And the Electric Guitar Hero for today is….. Contestant number…..” I was so nervous, my heart was beating so fast. “Contestant Number TWO!” silence from Blasterrifics was heard. We were looking at each other with sadness in the eyes. Banners were slowly laid down. Confusion was on my face and my heart. Then I heard “Congratulations Blaster Silonga and Angelo Garcia!” I was like “WHAT?! IS IT A TIE? I THINK IT’S A TIE!” then one of the fans of Angelo Garcia said that yes, it was a tie! I was jumping with joy! It was one of the craziest day that I have ever had! That moment I shouted “Thank you Lord! I know that WE ARE FAVORED”

After winning, huge number of people went to Blaster to ask for his photo. We were already being kicked out by the guard but that didn’t stop the fans. The day ended with Blaster taking photos with the new fans and the whole Blasterrifics.

When we were at the car, I asked him why is that your reaction when you heard the winner, Blaster has no reaction when the winner was announced, he then said “Hindi ko kasi alam kung anong number ako”

By the Vending Machine

I was eating my lunch near the vending machine. He came in and said hi to the girl beside me. I teased him about one of their throwback photos on Facebook and said “nice hair” – we goof around and he then told me “you’re bullying me on Facebook” then he stopped laughing and noticed that the vending machine is not working anymore. The machine is not reading his coins correctly. The vendo cannot eject the money anymore and he said “I’m really thirsty, c’mon work!” – I said have you tried to insert another coin?’, “no, I don’t want to try it again I spent a lot” he said wearing his beautiful smile. I took out a coin from my jacket and insert it. It did not work as well. I pressed the eject button and all of the coins went out and we can’t stop laughing because it is working! I told him to try it again and this time, slowly but surely. He returned to me the coin I inserted and continue. It was a long time of waiting for him to finish and the moment that he got his drink. He then said one thing he always tell me.

“Thanks Je”

Acquaintances to Friends

I don’t know why my heart beats so fast.

My eyes couldn’t just let you pass.

When you smile, I could not resist.

That I like the way, that curve of your lips.

That shining smile, those lovely eyes

The words I say that’s full of lies

I can’t deny I that I have been liking it.

When both of our eyes, finally meet.

I never thought I’d feel this again.

The hurt, the eagerness for us to begin.

Hoping to have a chance for us to talk

God! Please, even just for a little walk

You never failed to make me smile.

I miss you though it’s just a while

I think of  you every time I go to sleep.

Praying to God, hope we’ll go deep

I like you, yes I really do like you.

I’m not expecting you to feel it too.

I just want you to know how you make me feel.

Acquaintances to friends, hoping it’ll be real.

Blaster Silonga Biography

August 24, 2016, a young 16 year old from Marikina City amazed the Dabarkads as he shows off his good looks, good personality, and unbelievably great guitar skills at Eat Bulaga’s segment, Music Hero. He was known as Blaster Silonga.

Blaster Mitchelle Medina Silonga also known as ‘Ter’ or Blaster was born on September 30, 1999 at Sta. Monica, Tañong, Marikina City. The eldest son of Daddy A (Allan Mitchell Silonga) and Mommy Tess (Maritess Silonga) and the loving brother of Dave Jazz Mitchell, Ashanti Mitchell, and Alleinah Mitchell.

This good looking guy took his elementary and high school days at Marikina Christian Integrated School and graduated his secondary levels with good grades and medals. He is currently studying at BCI Marikina but due to this youngster’s schedule and popularity, he is now homeschooled under the care of the same school. He is a grade 11, senior high, student.

At an early age, Blaster has already been exposed to music as his whole family; his uncles and dad, is working  in the music industry. His dad actually is part of the showbiz industry. (Daddy A is a member of Daddy’s Home of X Factor Philippines). Blaster has already been performing sing and dance number at school and he’s actually great in imitating Michael Jackson! He is the lead guitarist of the band IV of Spades with another music hero; Zild Benitez; and his friends Unique Salonga and Badjao De Castro. This good looking kid is not just good in music but is also great at painting/drawing. He usually paints anime.

Growing up in church, Ter had deep relationship with the Lord. He is part of the JOHIA Worship Team & JYM Heroes Worship Team. Ter is one of the consolidators in the church meaning, he is one of those who welcomes and follow ups the VIPs or first timers in church. He is also active in his lifegroup under the care of his spiritual mentor, Ptr. Chips Abobo. He has actually finished School Of Leaders 2 that considers him as a Pastor!

Today, Blaster has an official fans club called Blasterrifics that’s always on point when it comes to supporting him in his gigs and guestings. JOHIA has always been proud of this guy.

This is just a glimpse of who our Guitar Hero, Prince of Animal Print is. I know you will like him more the more you get to know him.

We could always see him now at EAT BULAGA as a special guest and he is currently on his way to the finals. You could always watch him live every Saturdays at JYM Heroes, 5PM at Cubao, Quezon City.

Concentrix Application Process (Philippines)

If ever you are going to apply for Concentrix and you don’t know what to expect, you’re on the right place! In this blog you will see the Application Process in Concentrix. This is based on my personal experience. Ready? Let’s start!

YOU CAN WEAR ANYTHING! Business attire is not necessary but it’s a good first impression.

Bring the following:

  • A LOT of copies of your resume (just to make sure)
  • A valid ID (for first timers, school ID is valid)

PROCESS:

– If you applied through online, wait for the call or text of someone from the company for your interview. If you just walked in, pass your resume or if you don’t have one, ask for an application form. There are also head hunters, if they’re the one who introduced you to the company, you could ask them for help or assistance.

1. INITIAL INTERVIEW – they will see if you can communicate with them well. They mostly give attention on how you handle the conversation. Good grammar is not necessary but a good speaking English language will have big chance! It doesn’t matter if you feel that you are talking A LOT because that is what they are looking for. BE HONEST – very important! COMPLETE ENGLISH. TAGLISH will lessen your chances! Do your best, there are people who fails on this stage.

2. WRITTEN EXAM – English, math, logic, grammar, sales, computer, analyzing.

3. SECOND INTERVIEW – give your best on this stage! They will ask you personal questions and why you want to work on Call Center industry. We all know, we need money but PLEASE as much as possible, don’t mention anything about financial struggles but if you have already mentioned it, segue it to something like – “To be honest, I need a reliable career because we need a job to be able to survive the real world.. etc, I’m also up to the benefits. etc.. And I also see that Call Center job really is a big help in the economy of the Philippines and as I see my friends who works on the BPO industry – they are all successful and I want to be just like them etc. etc..” – like that. For tips on answering, check my next blog. If you pass this interview, you are most likely to be endorsed to the branch where they think you fit (depends on the account).

They will be giving you an endorsement letter to present to the branch where you are going to take the exam. In my case, I was sent from Cubao to Cyberwest in front of SM North Edsa. They covered the transportation, I rode their van and dropped me off on the very building. But if your skills passed on the account that is available on the place that you are applying then you’ll proceed to the next step.

4. ONLINE EXAMINATION – This will test your listening skills, analyzing skills, and following instructions skills. I’m sorry I could not give further more details due to confidentiality reasons. It’s kinda hard especially for those in entry level/first timers but if you have good skills in listening and paying attention to details, it’s good. This is the stage where a lot of applicants failed.

5. FINAL INTERVIEW – there are still chances of failing here even if you previous exams. In this phase, they will ask you questions harder than the first and second interview. In this interview, they will see if you are really up to the work. Communication skills and how you answer their question is what they are looking for. Answer at your best as much as possible and this is also the time to talk about your salary (for those who have been in the industry for a long time, for the first timers, don’t think of doing this) They will ask you to got to this floor and wait if you passed.

IF YOU PASSED.

6. JOB OFFER – Yes, job offer.  Tadaaaaaah! Completion of requirements is 3 days after your application. and you are to start immediately.

IF you are going to apply please do take note that you are on a ONE DAY PROCESS – NOT HALF DAY. You could be in the office until 12 am or more so be ready for it. Usually, you’re gonna be requested to go back for your contract signing.

Do your best so you won’t waste your time. If you want help, hit comment or contact me and I will refer you! 🙂

This blog has actually helped a lot now, thanks for viewing my blog guys!

Thinking about what had happened this 2014, I can’t help myself but start crying. This year is a year I’m not ready to say goodbye yet. I have no idea why but what I can tell you is  that 2014 is by far the most thrilling, most exciting, most confusing  year of my life.

I lost a lot of people but I gained more. I spent so much but I saved more, I cried a lot but I smiled more.

Not everybody could have a family like mine, a church like mine, a loving mentor and pastor like mine. I have everything.

Scanning memories from January  to now, I kept laughing at myself and ask.. Why the heck did i even did that? Well if you know what i mean.. It was a crazy journey not knowing what’s going to happen next.

But now, it’s the last day of 2014 and I better start kissing everything goodbye. 2015 is going to be a year full of blessing, full of joy, full of love, courage, and strength. Full of heart seeking for God.

This is it.
I’m ready for it.
I am really thankful for God for my awesome 2014!
This is the end of a book entitled 2014.
