Blaster Silonga Biography

August 24, 2016, a young 16 year old from Marikina City amazed the Dabarkads as he shows off his good looks, good personality, and unbelievably great guitar skills at Eat Bulaga’s segment, Music Hero. He was known as Blaster Silonga.

Blaster Mitchelle Medina Silonga also known as ‘Ter’ or Blaster was born on September 30, 1999 at Sta. Monica, Tañong, Marikina City. The eldest son of Daddy A (Allan Mitchell Silonga) and Mommy Tess (Maritess Silonga) and the loving brother of Dave Jazz Mitchell, Ashanti Mitchell, and Alleinah Mitchell.

This good looking guy took his elementary and high school days at Marikina Christian Integrated School and graduated his secondary levels with good grades and medals. He is currently studying at BCI Marikina but due to this youngster’s schedule and popularity, he is now homeschooled under the care of the same school. He is a grade 11, senior high, student.

At an early age, Blaster has already been exposed to music as his whole family; his uncles and dad, is working  in the music industry. His dad actually is part of the showbiz industry. (Daddy A is a member of Daddy’s Home of X Factor Philippines). Blaster has already been performing sing and dance number at school and he’s actually great in imitating Michael Jackson! He is the lead guitarist of the band IV of Spades with another music hero; Zild Benitez; and his friends Unique Salonga and Badjao De Castro. This good looking kid is not just good in music but is also great at painting/drawing. He usually paints anime.

Growing up in church, Ter had deep relationship with the Lord. He is part of the JOHIA Worship Team & JYM Heroes Worship Team. Ter is one of the consolidators in the church meaning, he is one of those who welcomes and follow ups the VIPs or first timers in church. He is also active in his lifegroup under the care of his spiritual mentor, Ptr. Chips Abobo. He has actually finished School Of Leaders 2 that considers him as a Pastor!

Today, Blaster has an official fans club called Blasterrifics that’s always on point when it comes to supporting him in his gigs and guestings. JOHIA has always been proud of this guy.

This is just a glimpse of who our Guitar Hero, Prince of Animal Print is. I know you will like him more the more you get to know him.

The Confidence Booster

The Confidence Booster

December 2008, my brother keeps on telling me, “Watch this please!” It was Michael Jackson’s Live in Bucharest Concert (The dangerous Tour). I really didn’t mind him. My mom and dad were fans of Michael Jackson so they watch it with him. December 30, 2008, we have a dance battle at around 7 in the evening so me and my whole troupe watched the concert at that afternoon. That night, I never stopped repeating how great MJ was on his concert. At that very time, I knew I was his fan already.

The next year came, 2009, I watched the same concert for three months straight so I already got to memorized the steps, where MJ will go, his movements, the song transitions and whatsoever. I also started to have make-belief performances in my bedroom as a Michael Jackson revived as I call. Yeah. So I always imagine that I am in front of many people, millions of people!

When MJ died, I cried. My classmates where laughing at me during those time. I hated it.

November 9, 2009, the school requested me to have an intermission number at our UNESCO celebration. I performed a mix song of If I ain’t got you and Billie Jean. I was in front of many people, literally, the whole school was watching me! That’s it! Many people congratulated me for such a great performance and love my attitude on stage. They say it as “no more stage freight for this girl” As far as I know, that was my biggest number of audience ever. And surprisingly, I don’t know why I did it without being that nervous. I think it’s because of my make belief performances. It boost my confidence on stage, I knew it! It was MJ!

More? Yes! December 12, 2009, the school asked me to compete for vocal solo. So I said yes! But then, the next day, they told me that it was not vocal solo but thus, it was a Doble Cara (definition: two faced, your face has two different sides while you’re performing, the other side is a male and the other is female. You will sing in two different voices also) Since I do not know how to do that, I didn’t come to school to practice that because I don’t want to. The competition is at December 15, 5pm. December 14 came. I thought that somebody else will be competing for that competition but the head in our faculty called me and said that I need to perform. I cried. Then somebody told me to think of a duet song of Michael Jackson. And I did! So Dec. 15 in the morning, I didn’t practice. I just prepared my costume and my song piece, and when the moment came. I won! I sang Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson’s scream. I won! It was really cool! 🙂

I was so blessed. MJ really did a big part in boosting my performance confidence, I’ve had more MJ performances after that day.
