Laroco Forgets Saging

Last October 26, 2014 at the JOHIA-Cubao Sanctuary, Boo Laroco played the JYM Heroes’ game of the day where he failed to guess the word saging that was given to him.

JYM Heroes’ game of the day was Pinoy Henyo where the crowd was divided into two groups; Team Ba and Team Awa. John Daniel and Jazz were the first 2 representatives of Team Ba while Paulo and Beulah represented the Team Awa. The game scored 1-2 in favor of Team Awa. The whole crowd was very eager to say oo, hindi, and pwede for their representatives to be able to guess the word. Both teams were high spirited and all minds were committed to the game. They also try their best to ruin the other team’s game by joking, dancing, shouting, and even break dancing while the other team is guessing. None of the 2 teams really wanted to lose! The last part of the game came where the 2 team leaders; Boo Laroco of Team Ba and Carlis Gazzingan of Team Awa were the ones who will guess the word. Laroco was the first one to guess. Saging was the given word. He started giving categories smoothly and as he ends up with the word fruit, Team Ba goes wild because they knew that the team will have another point. Laroco mentioned a lot of fruits including atis, rambutan, orange, strawberry, lanzones, langka, and so many other more. Team Awa thought that Laroco was only fooling around and he will be telling his answer at the last 10 seconds. As the time’s end comes near, Laroco gone crazy not knowing what fruit to mention anymore. The time ended up and Laroco failed to guess the word Saging. In the end, Team Awa wins JYM Heroes’ Pinoy Henyo with the score 3-1 as Gazzingan guessed the word Sandok.

“Yung mga nasabi niyang prutas, iyon lang ang kinakain niya, hindi talaga siya kumakain ng saging” joked by Lester Laroco, Boo’s brother. Laroco’s fans are looking forward for his next games in JYM Heroes.

JOHIA Launches JYM Heroes!

At around 2 o’clock in the afternoon last October 19, 2014; Jesus Our Hope International Assemblies launched JYM Heroes at #15 Cambridge St. Cubao, Quezon City where youth ranging from ages 11 and above found the Hero inside them.

The launching of the JYM Heroes of the JOHIA Youth Ministry Heroes started with flashing lights, techno music, singers and musicians on stage getting crazy, glow sticks all over the place, youths giving their best singing and dancing skills and great smiles. The sanctuary was filled with a number of almost 200 youths consisting of students, out-of-school youths, and young professionals. The praise and worship that was led by the JOHIA Junior Worship Team with Pastor Apol Laroco made the whole crowd gone wild and led the whole place to the Lord’s presence with great music.Pastor Tanny Planas, JOHIA’s senior pastor, started his preaching by showing photos and telling stories of different people who wasn’t known all over the world but what they did made a great impact to the world that could make them be called heroes. He proceeded to his preaching after the slideshow. His preaching focused on the story feeding of the five thousand where he pointed out that the boy who gave his 5 loaves and 2 fish became a hero because he simply cared for the others. The story made an impact to the youth that heard this story and realized that they could be a hero on their age by just simply having to care about the others. After the preaching, the crowd was divided into groups where boys and girls were separated and then were divided according to their ages. In the small groups; they were served with food, they talked about what was taught and they made new friends! The service ended with another round of praise and worship that was again led by the JOHIA Junior Worship Team, Pastor Apol Laroco, and Pastor Cyrus Laroco.

“Excited po kaming bumalik sa Sunday, sobra po kaming nag-enjoy at nabless!” said by one of the youths that attended the service. The JYM Heroes will be having their service every Sunday, 2 o’clock in the afternoon at JOHIA-Cubao Sanctuary. The launching of JYM Heroes was a success.
